Light GRUN is a procedurally generated endless runner, crossed with a point 'n shoot lightgun style game.

I haven't seen this mash-up of genres before,  but after buying (and waiting for) the 'Sinden Lightgun' I thought I'd give the concept a go!

This is my first ever game. I've chosen Godot as the game engine.

Run the survival course for as long as you can! Enemies and Spikes will try to kill you, try to remain focused as the game picks up the pace.

High scores are global - top ten seed runs displayed, challenge them, or get a new seed up there!

----

Tips:

  •  After completing a run, the seed from that run will populate the box on the menu, if you want to run a DIFFERENT course, clear the seed.
  •  Clicking a seed on the high scores will return you to the menu with that seed selected.
  •  Loot drops can be walked over or shot to pick them up
  •  'R' or Right-click to reload
  •  Left-click to shoot
  •  Other buttons can be rebound in options if needed

----

Install Instructions:

Windows: Extract zip, run the .exe

Mac: Extract Zip, Ctrl + Click the .app > Open, Click 'Open'

Linux: Extract zip, Open terminal in that location,

Make it executable:
chmod +x LightGrun-linux-0.0.3.x86_64

Play it!
./LightGrun-linux-0.0.3.x86_64

----

The first time the game boots it creates its config file and closes itself, boot the game again to play.

pretty cool for a first game! How do you find Godot?

Hey thanks!

Yeah I quite like it as an engine. I'm going to give unity a go for my next game as there seems to be a wealth of tools in plugins and the asset store and loads of tutorials around!

... did you get a high score? :D

If you don't have time to install and play...
A Sinden Lightgun owner has made an overview video.. Enjoy!
